Karen Goodfriend, CPA, PFS, Elected President Of CalCPA Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter
Karen R. Goodfriend, CPA, PFS, of KK Wealth Advisors, Los Altos, has been elected president of the Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2008 – 09. Goodfriend succeeds Sharon Selleck, CPA, of Burr, Pilger & Mayer, Palo Alto.
The CalCPA Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter serves more than 1,100 members. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning.
A principal with KK Wealth Advisors, Goodfriend has served on state committees for CalCPA and on the personal financial planning executive committee for the American Institute of CPAs. She has been selected five consecutive times by Worth magazine for its annual list of best financial advisers.
Goodfriend has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a master’s in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Joining Goodfriend on the board of the CalCPA Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter are Michael A. Thompson (vice president) of Sun MicroSystems, Menlo Park; James M. Knight (treasurer) of Vista Wealth Management, Palo Alto; and Laura C. Olson (secretary) of Hood & Strong, San Jose.
